Install alforria.
One Rust binary, as a prebuilt release or a source build. Install it, connect a provider, and start a session. No Node.js or other language runtime is required.
The installer.
The shortest path on Linux, macOS and WSL. It resolves the latest release, downloads the asset for your platform, verifies it against the published .sha256 file, and installs the binary to ~/.local/bin. It needs curl, uname, mktemp, install, and sha256sum or shasum. If the checksum file cannot be downloaded, it warns and installs without verifying.
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/alforria-ai/alforria/main/packaging/ install.sh | sh Set ALFORRIA_VERSION to pin a release tag, or ALFORRIA_INSTALL_DIR to choose another destination:
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/alforria-ai/alforria/main/packaging/ install.sh \
| ALFORRIA_INSTALL_DIR="$HOME/bin" sh Linux aarch64 builds are not published yet; build from source on that platform. On Windows, use the release binary below.
Prebuilt binaries.
Releases since v0.2.0 attach a binary for each supported platform and a matching .sha256 sidecar. Download from the latest release.
| Platform | Asset |
|---|---|
| Linux x86_64 | alforria-linux-x86_64 |
| macOS x86_64 | alforria-macos-x86_64 |
| macOS aarch64 | alforria-macos-aarch64 |
| Windows x86_64 | alforria-windows-x86_64.exe |
Linux binaries are built on Ubuntu 22.04. They need glibc 2.35 or newer and the OpenSSL 3, zlib and zstd shared libraries. Verify the checksum before installing:
curl -fLO https://github.com/alforria-ai/alforria/releases/latest/download/ alforria-linux-x86_64
curl -fLO https://github.com/alforria-ai/alforria/releases/latest/download/ alforria-linux-x86_64.sha256
sha256sum -c alforria-linux-x86_64.sha256
install -m 0755 alforria-linux-x86_64 ~/.local/bin/alforria On macOS, use shasum -a 256 -c <asset>.sha256 if sha256sum is unavailable. On Windows, compare Get-FileHash .\alforria-windows-x86_64.exe -Algorithm SHA256 with the sidecar, rename the file to alforria.exe, and put it in a directory on PATH.
From source.
Install a Rust toolchain, a C compiler, pkg-config, OpenSSL development headers for your target, and git. Put Cargo's bin directory on PATH.
git clone https://github.com/alforria-ai/alforria
cd alforria
cargo install --path crates/alforriaOr let Cargo fetch the repository directly:
cargo install --git https://github.com/alforria-ai/alforria --bin alforriaOn Windows, use the MSVC Rust toolchain and Visual Studio Build Tools. On Linux, package names for the C toolchain and OpenSSL headers vary by distribution.
First run.
Check the version, connect a provider, list the available models, and start the terminal UI:
alforria --version
alforria auth login
alforria models
alforriaTo open the local web client instead, run alforria web; it runs without a password unless you set OPENCODE_SERVER_PASSWORD. For one non-interactive request, run alforria run "summarize this repository". The quickstart covers provider setup and the first session.
Upgrade.
Re-run the installer, download a newer release binary, or run cargo install again. Sessions and credentials live outside the binary; run alforria debug paths to see the data, config, cache and state directories. There is no package manager integration yet.
